The OCR Level 2 Certificate for IT
Practitioners (ICT Systems Support) has been developed to address the needs
of candidates wanting to gain employment in the IT industry and those
already employed in the IT industry who want to improve their skills.
This new qualification links closely to a candidate's professional
development and reflects the needs of employers. It has been designed to
develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the full range of functions
involved in system support including the maintenance of computer systems,
the installation of hardware and software, the testing of systems and the
production of customer support materials. |
| When and where: |
- Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 am to 4 pm.
- Starts in w/c 21st February for 16 to 18 weeks.
- Room c528 in the Computer Centre.

Units Covered:
|
- Unit 1: Maintaining Equipment and IT systems
- Unit 2: Providing Customer Support
- Unit 8: Computer Maintenance and Installation (A+)

Age:
|
19 and above
|
|
Entry Requirements:
|
- Proficiency in applications software to at least ECDL level.
- Excellent Windows skills - able to perform basic admin and
housekeeping tasks in Windows.
- Preferably done a course which covers basic hardware skills.

Must have an excellent level of English to enable them to understand
technical jargon used in the course.
This is a short, fast-paced course leading to a professional qualification -
students will need to be fully committed to the course in order to keep up.
The course should equip them with the skills to get a job afterwards in a
technical support role.
