SECTION I: BASICS
The courses described in this section are designed to give you a thorough grounding in the techniques you will need, to get the most out of any computer training.

NB: throughout this prospectus, Level 1 indicates Elementary proficiency in a particular subject, and Level 2 indicates Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency.

Course Title Keyboard Skills DI200
Course Length: 12 hours Level 1 / 12 hours Level 2
Course Description: This course is intended to train computer users to enter data with speed and accuracy. A non-typist can achieve touch-typing speeds of at least 25 words per minute by taking the full 24 hours. If you already have some typing skills you can greatly increase your speed and accuracy. It is strongly recommended that anyone intending to use a computer without previous typing experience take this course.
Course Title Microsoft Windows DI201
Course Length: 12 hours Level 1 / 12 hours Level 2
Course Description: The graphics screens of Windows make using your computer easier, and friendlier. You point and click instead of having to remember command words. This course is essential for both complete beginners and who want to go back and learn the foundations of operating a computer, like preparing disks and keeping them healthy, applying operations on files and folders, adjusting the system configurations, and so on.
Course Title BCS e-type (Leading to the British Computer Society's e-type Certificate) DI202
Course Length: 45 hours
Course Description: e-type is the quick and easy way to learn to touch-type with ten fingers. You will be guided through the course of ten comprehensive and enjoyable lessons in a planned and logical sequence that takes you on the shortest path to learning. Each self-paced lesson builds on the skills learned in previous lessons and at each step you are encouraged and motivated to continue. e-type alternates between speed practice and accuracy lessons to improve skills in both areas. In-built reporting and assessment tools enable an accurate snapshot of your progress at any time.

Towards the end of the course you can sit a test to get the BCS e-type qualification.
